Want a Challenge?  We have started a big money round each Wed after league...9 holes dollar skins, buck buck buck (each 3 holes) and $2 bogey free.  Alternate holes on 8 and 9 (not typical league holes).  We have also incorporated the Woodland League Bunkers, Dirt and Anti Dirt rules. There is also generally a "low rent" group that plays with the same rules but for quarters rather than dollars.

A handicap is established after you have played 3 weeklies as a Comet. 

Handicaps are based on your last 5 weeklies.  The average of your scores during that time is subtracted from 54 (the par 3 total of the course) and multiplied by .9.  Let's pick on Vic as an example to fully understand:

He shoots an average of 56.6 per weekly.  We subtract 54 to give us his average of 2.6 over per round.  That is multiplied by .9 (90%) to give us his Handicap of 2.34.  This means he starts at -2 when he plays his next weekly.

If you have not participated in 5 series events but have established your handicap, the last three or four completed rounds will be used.  Handicaps are rounded up i.e. if your handicap is 4.55, your rounded handicap is 5.  If your handicap is -4.55 your rounded handicap is -5.  Handicaps cannot exceed -9.  Complete data will be available at each weekly and for you formula buffs, I'd be happy to sit down and show you how this all works in excel.

Player Tags are played for within your group only during this event.

It gets dark and cold during our winter rounds so bring glow discs, flashlights, warm layers, handwarmers etc.

Aces: Note-If Acepot is over $1000 each ace gets paid in full, if less then it splits.  If a $100 and a $200 ace is hit both get paid every time as long as the acepot is over $300.  Both raised baskets (Hole 7 and Temporary Hole 9) are worth $200 each unless Temp Hole 9 gets rolled and then it is worth $400!.
 

Weeklies will be held every Wednesday at Carmichael Park. We meet next to hole 7. Signups will be at 5pm, start time at 6:00pm. Rain or shine. Dark or light. Bring your glow discs and flashlights during the wintertime. There are lights, but it does help pick up the game when they are easier to see.

How much to play 
It is 7 dollars to play the weekly. 5 dollars goes to the payout, 1 dollar to the ace fund, 1 dollar to course improvements. Juniors can play their first 3 events to establish their handicap for free.  Course funds have provided improvements such as baskets and cement tees. We will always be looking for feedback on any other course improvements.

There is a side pot, 3 dollars to the top raw score of the day divided by divisions. Winner takes all unless there are 10 or more players then top two. Divisions are Pro, Amateur and women.

There is also a quarter jar for bogey free rounds. If there are more than one bogey free round scores turned in, the pot carries over. Ladies qualify with a card of no double bogeys.

Points and standings
1st place - 6 pts + 2pts = 8
2nd place – 4 pts + 2pts = 6
3rd place – 2pts + 2pts = 4
4th place – 1pts + 2pts = 3

Top 4 places in points after 24 weeks will receive trophies.

Extra points
Every player will receive 2 points (see above) for completing one round of 18 holes. Must finish round, if you leave early, scorecard is disqualified for handicaps and points.

Handicaps
The way you establish your handicap is by completing 3 complete rounds of 18. The first three weeks of the league is to establish a handicap. Anybody who has not established a handicap or is a new member will be subject to the following rule. If they score under par their first time playing, their raw score will be used, but they cannot score better than a -1. If the players score is over par 1st, 2nd or 3rd rounds (not established handicap) their score shall be the actual score thrown until three rounds of 18 are complete. You cannot establish a handicap and use it the same day. Currently the cap on handicaps is a +9 (Nine over par). The handicap formula is the following. (Your average – course average) times 90 percent. Currently we are taking your last 5 scores for the handicaps. Older scores will be dropped off every five weeks.

Payouts
Payout will always be 40% of total field. All ties playoff at designated area to basket 6. If you leave before playoff you will receive the lowest cash of the tied group.
All official PDGA rules will be in effect!
